Our reading intervention class consists of all grade levels. We are teaching students about conservation, so as a club activity, we have built a greenhouse for a vegetable garden, complimented by a rain barrel, and a separate butterfly/hummingbird garden to attract pollinators. Students are enjoying learning about conserving water and animal habitats and would like to be able to add to the existing structures. They have expressed an interest in acquiring butterfly and hummingbird houses, butterfly and hummingbird feeders, more flowers/vegetables, flower pots, a butterfly habitat, and even live butterflies and ladybugs. One of our students has an earthworm farm at her house and has brought some in for our raised bed garden planters.
