I want to start teaching in small groups so I can individualize my teaching. This table will allow me to work more one on one with students and they will be able to show their thinking. A lot of my students do not come to class with the “necessities,” a pencil or paper. Some do not come to class because they have much bigger things to worry about. I would like to eliminate that worry for them and let them focus on their skills and take charge of their learning. In small groups, a lot of students shine brighter, participate more, and speak more because they’re less intimidated.
