This will be my first year teaching first grade. I would like to obtain, with your help, a laptop that my students will be able to benefit from; getting differentiated work, work to print, and worksheets, play brainpop videos, use videos to make a connection to what they are learning which is why I focused on culturally responsive instruction. I would like to provide my students the opportunity to increase their access to media literacy. I can achieve this with your support by providing them videos, pictures, visuals to explore history and real life connections to what is going on out there in their world. This is very important for my students to do in order to read more in depth the content they are learning. A lot of students tend to get bored reading. I want to get rid of this negative connotation when it comes to literacy using fun interactive tools that students can use during reading groups using the laptop. It is important for students to learn about history in the United States using different perspectives. It is important for students to learn through and instruction that empowers students intellectually, socially, emotionally, and politically by using cultural referents to impart knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The laptop will allow my students to become motivated and write and draw how to complete the task. I will like to provide my students the opportunity to become engaged while reading and analyzing what they are reading. I believe in my students making meaningful connections to the diverse backgrounds of their life while emphasizing a rigorous curriculum and high expectations for
