My students are all either Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Due to their varied abilities to use their hearing, much of what I teach is project based. All of these projects are hands on using their observations as well as textile skills to learn important information. My students tend to lack real world experience, and therefore their ability to have background knowledge to make connections is extremely low. Due to this lack of life experience, I am trying to provide them with real world experiences via field trips and virtual field trips. This type of education my students require, I am using a lot of my own money. I am at the point where I need to seek help from others to help my students succeed.
