I have the pleasure to teach 1st grade math and science at Hartsfield Elementary in H.I.S.D (3rd Ward). I have a total of 27 students who are eager to learn but have many challenges in their life. Our school is considered Title One because of the 86% of the 365 students are financially challenged. Our school is composed of 89% African-American and 19% who are Hispanic. We have acquired the status of being an environmental science magnet school. We have many animals that live in the classrooms, school grounds, and in the hallways which include fish, birds, snakes, chickens and reptiles. Our school hosts after school music performances, robotics, dance, sports and an art club. With your help I hope to transform, encourage, and expand my students minds to new heights.
