I teach 2nd Grade at Marshall Elementary, a Title I public school in Orangeburg, SC, where 646 Pre-K–5 learners thrive in classes of about 17 students each. Our school community is diverse—91% of our scholars identify as Black/African American, alongside Hispanic, White, Asian, American Indian/Alaska Native, and multiracial students, with an even mix of girls and boys. All children qualify for free lunch, with many facing barriers to accessing learning materials at home, they bring curiosity, creativity, and resilience to the classroom. Currently, 18% of students are reading at grade level and 10% are meeting math benchmarks; to help every child grow, I lead daily Tier 2–3 small groups and guided reading and math sessions tailored to their needs. Your support will provide the tools and resources that empower each scholar to build confidence, celebrate their strengths, and achieve their fullest potential.
