A light table opens up countless learning opportunities, from art to educational concepts to open-ended play. Children can explore details from items in nature, mix colors, work on math concepts such as counting and patterning, and even practice literacy skills. Painting on the light table is another creative experience. The light helps focus children's attention for longer periods of time, and the glow from the light table adds a new dimension to sensory play. Preschoolers come to school excited to learn, and it is our job to further nurture this love for learning. A light table will provide many opportunities for my students to engage in play-based educational experiences from science to art to math and literacy! It will be used year-round in many imaginative ways.
