Kindergarteners learn best when they get their hands on materials to explore. Using a balance to compare the weight of 3 unifix cubes or 5 unifix cubes or pouring colored water from a cup into a tall skinny container or a short fat container is constructive, active learning -- the kind we like best! We love to get our hands on measurement tools like balances, unifix cubes, and graduated measuring containers to grow our math brains! The materials I have requested will benefit all three kindergarten classrooms at my school because we share materials with each other.
