Here in Florida, we set high expectations for every student. The students receive their ELA skills through balanced reading. I believe that incorporating Storyworks into their weekly education can open new doors not only for the students, but for myself as well. Many colleagues have raved about Storyworks and how the magazine, and all the online resources it comes with, have helped their students reach their goals. What I love about this resource is that they have text in four different levels, because we all know our students are not all the same. After exploring sample magazines I fell in love with the vast amount of information and literary text it has to offer. From poems to comparing articles on the same topic. Not to mention the vibrant photographs that are appealing to any person, child or adult. I will be able to incorporate Storyworks in small group, whole group, and even during their independent work!
