This year my students will be participating in the challenge of reading all the 2017-2018 Sunshine State books in order to be a part of the Battle of the Books team. My school awards students with prizes for the completion of reading the books and scoring 80% or better on an AR comprehension test. The Sunshine state book and popular title copies are often checked out of our school media center and our class library. This grant will provide my classroom with copies of the books they want to read. It will also help my scholars challenge themselves to earn their place along the 3rd-5th grade students AR/Sunshine State challenge! Setting goals for ALL students to work towards is extremely important for their academic success. As an educator, my purpose is to challenge all of my students, regardless of their abilities. Having these titles in my classroom library will allow my higher level readers to push their limits and attain their goals of reading challenging books. The look of accomplishment on my students' faces with a successful score on an Accelerated Reader test is why I go to school everyday. My scholars and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity!
