My students are all still learning to read! Some are emergent readers who are learning how to hold a book. Some are beginning readers who are learning to read words, sentences, and paragraphs. Others are using critical thinking skills to connect to the text they are reading. Having the ability to get our library collection into their hands will help my students in their quest to learn to read which will increase their reading proficiency. This new library cart will generate enthusiasm for books in a time when covid-19 restrictions on their young lives have made finding happiness a little more difficult. This library cart has separate sections which will be used to generify the collection so that my students can more easily find the type of books they want to read. Student's enthusiasm for reading will lead to an increase in their reading skills. Student outcomes will improve because students are increasing their abilities with every book they pick up to read. This gift will keep on giving!
