My space is limited, so I have learned the science of the stack. My storage containers consist of copy paper boxes grabbed from the school's recycle bins, all carefully organized to put the heaviest boxes on the bottom of my small closet and I don't have a closet at the second school that I teach in! I would like to instill my responsibility in my students regarding care and storage of our instruments. My ultimate goal is to have all instruments sorted and stored in color-coded, labeled containers and these carts with colored drawers will give me that option. I am also looking at clear tubs for the larger instruments and I can label these using the label-maker and colored label tape. I can then have students take the responsibility of cleaning up after themselves, while taking ownership in the idea of keeping our music area neat and tidy.
