I am a fifth grade math and science teacher in the poorest ward in Washington DC. Many of my students have little to no competence in using technology as a means to gaining and expanding information. My students are rockstars with incredible insight. Their visions for the future are broad as well as empowering. Access to critical information to analyze issues in their own community would deepen their appreciation for their role in becoming change agents in the nation’s capitol and hopefully beyond. When they know how to access information here, they will know how to best navigate the world.
