Having a flight simulator as part of our principles of aeronautical science program in Navy Junior ROTC, will greatly enhance the program by creating enthusiasm. Aeronautical science is a challenging program involving a lot of study. With a flight simulator, students will be given an opportunity to use what they have learned in the classroom in a practical setting. A computer capable of handling the software program along with flight controls and virtual reality will make the flight simulator experience possible. This system has been successfully used at other high schools in the Navy JROTC program in Florida. We are hoping to increase interest in the aviation part of our program and eventually to offer college credit leading to industry certifications for our students.
