Alternative seating choices help create a unique learning experience that increases engagement and enhances a love for learning. Students LOVE options! With the requested bean bags, carpet squares, reading pillows, and bounce balls my students will be able to choose where they want to sit each day instead of being required to sit at their assigned desk. Their choice not only promotes comfort, but also their learning. Allowing students to choose their seat increases their excitement and motivation to learn! We utilize all areas of our classroom and school building. Carpet squares provide students a resource to take with them as they walk out the door, head to the front for discussion, or sit around the room with their group. They will be used for comfort and sensory redirection. Reading pillows will provide my students with just the right amount of comfort and support in our reading area. The bounce ball and bean bag chairs allow students the option to be more relaxed in order to focus on their learning. I want to give my students options that will enhance their learning and engagement. When you give students a choice in their learning they are more eager to work and learn.
