Thank you for taking the time to read this request for donations of materials. I am a teacher at an Elementary School that serves approximately 600 students annually. I work as a Special Educator of Kindergarten students in an inclusive setting. Part of my job is to help students grow in the area of self-regulation and social-emotional skills. All children have different needs and I differentiate my lessons based on the needs of the students. There is no set curriculum so I take topics that the children are working on and create my lessons. This is where I am asking for help. My students need access to creative, engaging texts to connect with while working on these difficult to navigate skills. I am hoping to grow my library of social-emotional books to help all students understand social contexts that are difficult to teach. When they read about the "kids" in these books they realize they are not alone. I create lessons to be fun and engaging to help students feel comfortable and grow. Thank you again for taking the time to read through my request and thank you to all who donate! I appreciate you helping me to help our students!
