TIME For Kids will help me reinforce the Common Core State Standards, with a focus on the important ELA Career and College Readiness Anchors of Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening, and Language. The articles are all informational text, standards for reading social studies, math, and science are reinforced, as well. Having a weekly issue of TIME for Kids will enable my students to be connected to our world issues, not just those locally. Students will be more engaged in daily reading strategies if it pertains to their lives and futures. We will be able to read stories weekly and dig into their meanings and discuss how these real-world issues can affect my students and how they may be able to help make changes in our world.
