The materials needed to get the Green Team going are limited but essential. I, the teacher, will most likely be spending my own money getting these supplies but it's for a good cause. My school is located in a coastal community where nature is closely tied to the lively hood of many of the locals. Our school has had a recycling dumpster for years but there has never been an actual program set up to get the materials from the classroom to the dumpster. My after school club will be in charge of this program along with monthly beach and park cleanups and creating art from the garbage we find on the beach. In addition, the club will be measuring the amount of recyclables produced so as to educate the school body about the importance of recycling and the impact it can have.
