One of the major pieces of equipment our school is lacking is basketball goals. Our students have expressed an intense interest and desire to play basketball and having these goals is the easiest way to accomplish that. I make every attempt to incorporate an academic component in every activity and the scoring of basketball is an easy elementary math tie-in and there are multiple games that involve other math and reading opportunities. Our school is also constantly looking for ways to involve the community or collaborate with other schools in the area. Creating an elementary basketball league with neighboring schools will bring an additional opportunity to our existing soccer league.
