We are creating a room that will help our students regulate their bodies so that they can become more successful in the classroom. The lights, bean bags, and other sensory tool are necessary to finish what we have envisioned. Our students will use this room daily. They will be able to use it as part of a sensory diet, or when they are struggling to regulate their bodies. They will have access to a calming relaxing environment away from their classroom with adult support. When they return to their classroom, their body and mind will be ready to learn.
