In class I like my students to be very hands on. When studying the roots and shoot systems of a plant I would like my students to have a hands on visual of how the roots get started then along with gravity the root are grow down into the soil and the shoot system grow up into the air. Give hands on examples makes so much more of an impact on a student then showing them a picture. Having them plant their own examples gives them ownership and is a much more meaningful lesson.
