My group of the students is low-income Spanish population. The use of carpet will be a great tool for them because: A carpet or rug is a great tool to use as a meeting area or communal space in a classroom. It provides a friendly environment where a whole class or small groups can sit and communicate, ideal to use at registration time or story time. My group of the student did not have this experience in the prior years in their original countries. I would like to create the learning opportunity therefore they: will learn to respect personal space, will be a good listener. We will be reading aloud, talking and sharing ideas in a group, a small group using a less rigid environment, and additionally the students will have a personal reading experience and will share books with peers.
