The new set of dictionaries and thesaurses will help my students continue to build their vocabulary, which will only help their overall achievement goals! My ELL and other bilingual students use these books to help build and extend their knowledge. I don't want a language barrier hinder their learning achievements. My students will use these tools to help them find new words to express their thoughts and feelings. Instead of saying, "I am worried about my family." They would discover the word "fret." They would then say, "I used to fret about caring for my parents." This small example is a sampling of what these new additions will mean to my students. They will be able to take the non existing dictionaries and thesaurus in the classroom today and will be able to discovery a whole new avenue of learning new words and meanings.
