Students enter the room everyday ready get started! We start with my favorite part of the day, Morning Meeting. The rest of our schedule looks like this: Language Arts, Recess, Science, Lunch, Math, Specials (P.E., Art, Music), Social Studies. They love hearing our read aloud of "Wonder" during reading. I can see the excitement in their eyes when we go to the science lab. The children love the freedom they have in choosing their own center activities during math. They ask the most profound question in our social studies lessons. Everyday with these kids is rewarding, exhausting, challenging, and amazing! I serve 21 creative, hilarious students in my classroom. 86% of the kids in my class are Hispanic. 38% are English Language Learners. Our school is located in an economically disadvantaged neighborhood, with most students qualifying for free or reduced lunch.
