Reading is a way for my students to escape from their reality. It is my goal to build up a classroom library so my students are able to borrow and take books home to read on their long commutes and during their free time. Students have different reading levels, so I am trying to create a library with a variety of reading levels and interests. Reading is a critical attribute of a lifelong learner. The idea of reading for fun or reading for passion is foreign to many students when the only reading they know is the reading the teacher assigns. I want to provide an opportunity for my students to read for fun!
