My students need a comfortable carpet for a place to gather for story time, share time, centers and whole group instruction. A lot goes on in a first grade classroom and the majority of that activity happens in a group setting. That is why a gathering place, such as a carpet, is crucial to the early elementary classroom. Gathering together on a carpet provides my first grade students with an opportunity to grow and learn as a classroom community. A carpet is an integral part of the environment in an early elementary classroom. Every child deserves an inviting and comfortable learning environment that facilitates learning and promotes student success.
