I teach Kindergarten in an innovative Prek-12th grade academy in San Antonio, TX. Our educational philosophy is rooted in the knowledge that all children learn at their own pace and that everyone deserves to be in a learning community that celebrates their unique strengths. As our students move through our classrooms they are supported and valued as individuals. Our Kinder-3rd grade classrooms are grouped together in "villages" so that these age groups can collaborate and build upon each other's passions and interests. Villages allow teachers to collaborate as well, as we work to bring each student the scaffolding that works best for them. Along with being a teacher at my school I am also a parent. My son began his school life in the very Kindergarten classroom I am teaching in currently. My role as both a parent and a teacher has provided me a front row seat to our school's genuine love for students and community
