Each day we begin our learning by sitting on the floor together for a Morning Meeting. This is when we set our goals for the day and get our minds and bodies prepared for the school day. A large classroom rug will allow my students to comfortably sit in one space altogether. When we all have personal space and are comfortable we can better focus on our academic and social-emotional learning. On this rug, we will come together to learn, explore, and collaborate. We will use this space as a whole class, for small group instruction, and as a cozy spot to read by ourselves or with a friend.
