My students have some physical challenges with flexibility and stamina. They will be stretching and flexing through fitness integration in their dance classes. Because flexibility and stamina are key to successful dancers, they need to practice yoga. Yoga builds core strength, balance, and endurance. The foam rollers will help release tension in overused muscles and keep them from tightening up. Tight muscles can inhibit flexibility, and decrease a dancer's range of motion. Yoga blocks will help the students with their body alignment when placed under their hands, feet, or bodies to keep them safe from falling during stretches. Dancers will use the sleeved tubing for conditioning to help build resistance, flexibility, strength and endurance. These bands can not only assist in building muscle but they also help with foot exercises that lead to a stronger pointed and flexed foot. They work the triceps, biceps, and the trapezius muscles in the back. All of these things are necessary to build strong and flexible dancers, which will enable them to become fantastic dancers with professional ability, opening doors with choices for them in their upcoming young adulthood. I'm all about presenting the fact that my goal is to give kids the opportunities to have choices in life. I want to give them the tools to be great and make healthy choices in life.
