My students need math centers for enrichment and differentiated instruction. These centers will provide a welcome respite from the computer programs we use in class by giving the children a chance to work together. While computers are helpful, they do not instill the socialization skills that can facilitate mathematics aptitude that these centers can provide. Children learn effectively working in groups and that is the aim of these centers: to get them together, get them talking, and get them to "Do the Math!" With the erasable tablets my students will be able to work on math computations while conserving paper. Also, instead of having one student at the board working on a problem, I can have the others also working on the problem using the tablets. In a day and age where every dollar counts, I am convinced that these tablets will become a common item found in the backpacks of future students.
