My students attend a junior-senior high school with more than 1300 students, most of which come from low income households. Given all the hardships and economic challenges they face, my students are AWESOME! They come to me with different ranges of science knowledge, but are always eager to learn! They are willing to participate in all the interactive notebooks, hands-on activities and labs with enthusiasm. It's no wonder why I love my job! I always tell my students it's not about being proficient on any particular test; rather, it's about growth: gaining more knowledge and understanding than they started with. I want my students to learn science, but more importantly, I want them to get a great education in a class where they know they have a teacher who truly cares!
