My students range from 3 to 10 years age and have a wide range of abilities and needs. All of my students have a disability in the area of speech and/or language. My students work on targetted speech and language skills two to three times a week in my classroom. They practice basic communication skills, articulation, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension strategies in reading, use of appropriate grammar in sentences, and pragmatics in social conversations. The school is in coastal South Carolina and more than a third of the students come from low-income households.
