My special education classroom is comprised of students with a variety of backgrounds and special needs. These students face adversity in many aspects of life. The majority of my students come from a low socioeconomic background with over 70% of students school-wide qualifying for free or reduced lunch services. This limits the opportunities for exposure to technology and learning materials that can be costly. Even with the adversities faced at home, socially, and on their educational journey these students come to school every day eager to learn and be engaged in the learning environment. They deserve access to the most effective and engaging learning tools available to ensure their success. My students are wonderful, free-spirited, creative, kind, and loving little humans that deserve the very best life has to offer.
