I am requesting a variety of manipulatives and games to use in the classroom. These materials will be used to engage students in their own learning in math and reading lessons. The math manipulatives and games not only enhance individual learning but also make it fun and exciting. The math manipulatives will allow students to use more than one learning style to help counting skills, one on one correspondence, addition, subtraction, and regrouping strategies. The reading manipulatives will be used to help students with foundational reading skills such as rhyming words, and identifying letters and their corresponding sounds. Research has shown that using a variety of learning styles for each lesson not only helps students understand concepts being taught but enables them to be able to apply the strategy that they have learned.
