My students need more books in our classroom library. This year our school district just began a new reading program that requires our classroom libraries to have many books. My students have become very excited about reading books which is AWESOME! But, there is just one thing our library has limited titles and we need more. With the new books the students will be able to have a variety of titles to choose from for their book bags. To make the reading lesson go smoother it would be very helpful for the students to have a easel. Through TCRWP we must complete our mini lessons in a whole group setting on the carpet. This is where the easel will come in handy, so the students view will not be abstracted. This will change the dynamics of our reading lessons. My students will use these books to practice reading strategies taught during the mini lesson. They will practice during independent reading, partner reading, and in small groups. Your generous donation to our project will improve our 3rd/4th grade classroom by building life long readers. Oh The Places You Can Go Through A Book!
