This year, our classroom has a 1:1 technology initiative, which means each student has their own Chromebook. We use online learning programs, apps, and websites. We take pictures, create projects, and do research. Also new to our school this year is our STEAM Lab, which is amazing all in itself, but having 1:1 technology will greatly improve even more (students will EACH get to experience these hands-on, extended learning activities without having to buddy-up, share, or take turns)! With all this being said, in order for the students to more efficiently use their Chromebooks, they need mice and headphones as well! The amazing benefit of having technology in the classroom is only as good as the students' abilities to use it!
