We work daily on self feeding, mobility and interacting with the school environment. My students need adaptive bowls, plates, spoons and bowls for working on self feeding. We practice three times a day doing self feeding. Some students have to have their food blended due to swallowing issues so we need a food processor. Many explore through their oral sense so we use chewy tubes to give them something to chew on during the day. I have students with limited or no hearing so a light up speaker is a way for them to experience music using other senses. A vibrating massage mat is good for them to use when they need to calm down or have sensory input. We use Vtech toys because they are bright, have music or noise, and are highly motivating for my students.
