My students and I will benefit tremendously from having these materials in our classroom. This is largely because having a class set of a novel will help them out during such book club activities as Literature Circles where there is uniformity of text and diversity of task or role. The most effective way to help my students own their reading is when each student can speak to the subject matter and whomever they are speaking to can add, dissent and/or corroborate the textual discourse because they are reading the same text too! Of course, the carpet will add an awesome touch!
