There are millions and millions of amazing books written for children, however, many of them are not written at a level that children can read on their own. As a kindergartner just starting out this can be very frustrating. What good is a book if you can't read it? With the books and bins in our project, my students will be able to choose a book independently with confidence and pride. The books I've requested include both fiction and nonfiction to meet the requests of all my students. I will label each book and place them into the labeled bins. No more fear of getting a book that is too hard. No more flipping through books just to look at the pictures and guessing at what the author might be saying. My students will become true readers. This will help build Independence, confidence, and a love of reading for these early learners.
