Seat pockets allow my students to keep the books they've selected form our classroom library with them at their desk. It saves time during transitions and opens up time for quick reads. This equals more time actually reading which is critical in first grade. This is the year children learn to read and time is precious! First- graders fall in love with their books and want to sneak in as much time as possible reading them. I often find books jammed in the back of the student's desk. Which brings me to another point, these seat pockets will also help prolong my books shelf life in the classroom. Thank you for your consideration.
