My school was one of the 9 schools in HISD damaged by the hurricane. Many of our visual aides were destroyed in the process. ESL children need the support of seeing what they are learning. Large anchor charts for every standard taught bring the learning to life. I plan to make the poster maker available to all the teachers at my school, so I am asking for extra refills so there does not have to be a limit on what they create to help their students. The poster machine that we were given to use while we waited for our temporary school was 1 poster per teacher. Although I was grateful, this is simply not enough to replace what was lost. I decided to reach out to Donor's Choose to see if I could make it better for all of us that are in the process of rebuilding. We now spend extra time riding the bus with our students to the temporary school every morning and afternoon, so anything to help off set the extra hours being spent on bus duty would be a huge relief.
