In my first grade class, it is the first time reading for many of my little friends. In the ideal classroom there will always be a place for students to get comfortable and read. In our classroom, we do not have that luxury. When the hurricane came through, it forced me to use my resources in other places. The area rug that I've requested will allow my students to have enough space to get cozy on the floor and have an enjoyable reading experience. I have also requested pillows so my students can get comfy while they read. I truly believe if my students have the opportunity to enjoy their first reading experiences, they will begin to love reading.
