Every student loves a field trip! It is a fun, hands-on way to learn about many different topics. However, every teacher worries about field trips. Teachers are constantly doing head counts and looking to make sure they have all of their students. I would like to do tie-dye shirts with the students so that we have an easily identifiable "uniform" for the students to wear on field trips. Each student would get a shirt that they would twist, fold, or pinch into a design. They would then add rubber bands to hold their design in place. When they have finished preparing their shirt students will use the dye to add color. After about 12 hours, the teacher will wash them and have them ready for the students the next day. Students love to make things they can wear! By tie-dying as a class the students will feel they are a part of something and still have a sense of individuality because their shirt is not the exact same as others. These shirts will then be worn on the field trips that we go on throughout the year.
