My students are all diagnosed on the spectrum of autism spectrum disorders. My students need routine and structure. They are hands on learners. They need hands on materials and visuals to best understand concepts. With magnetic supplies and a document camera, my students will be able to more easily learn new concepts both at home and at school. Some of my students responded to distance learning however, my teaching assistant and myself were always juggling worksheets and manipulatives at home while trying to teach or review concepts. With the addition of magnetic tools and a document camera, we will be more equipped to teach from either school or home. We would be able to manipulate objects, complete examples and be able to reach multiple students at one time. This change in both learning and teaching has not been easy. These tools will allow for easier transport between home and school of materials that will provide hands on learning during virtual learning days and will allow us to virtually teach students easier.
