My bilingual students need much support with language acquisition, therefore providing them uninterrupted access to literacy where they listen and respond to text is essential to their language development. My students have access to a few tablets with Internet access and they may engage with text by listening to it and practicing their fluency. They are also able to dictate their ideas on Google Docs and record their ideas while learning to write in English. In addition to my bilingual students’ language needs, I also have students with learning disabilities that benefit from using these headsets so that they may practice necessary skills to achieve their individual goals.
