My goal is to begin to get book sets into my classroom, specifically books that are at a lower reading level. Many of my students haven't found enjoyment in reading and I want to try to engage them. These books have films available and I want to pair them so we can compare and analyze the books to the films. Trying to keep my struggling students engaged is always a challenge, I believe getting these books into their hands will do just that. Our titles include TheHunger Games, The Hate U Give and Catching Fire. Even though my students are reading well below grade level, I will challenge them to meet similar standards that the general education population are expected to meet. This will only happen if they are engaged in the text they are reading.
