As a first grade teacher, I feel that it is important for me to have a classroom library that my students can feel comfortable in. The classroom library is a vital part of the classroom environment. As we begin to receive books for our classroom library, I recognize that we need a space to place them. Currently, our classroom library area is small containers that are holding groups of books on the floor on our reading carpet. New bookcases would be helpful to give the students a place that they could keep our books and give our library a much-needed update. The students would enjoy the experience of putting up bookshelves as well as recognizing the need to "make a quality space" for reading. Our class would be so grateful for any donations we can get!
