The whiteboard table, markers, erasers, and storage unit are all materials and tools that will help to foster the real-world collaboration and communication skills that students will need to possess across various settings in their post-secondary lives. These materials will be used across numerous group projects within my library and public speaking classes, as well as any other classes/teachers who utilize my school's library media center. Not only will these materials help to provide opportunities for differentiated instruction, but they will also stimulate the learning process and create highly engaging lessons and activities. For example, students in my public speaking course will utilize the materials to create a product pitch, a culminating and collaborative project where students will develop a product, research various companies who may want to invest in such a product, and finally pitch their product to potential stake holders. Students will use the requested materials to brainstorm ideas, communicate with one another, and fulfill visual and hands-on learning needs. The donations for this project will improve my students' school lives and their educational experience by appealing to the different learning styles of each student, provide a work station that promotes student-autonomy, and help them build upon a real-world skill set that can be generalized across various settings and experiences.
