My classroom includes six students with autism. Students with autism have a huge interest in technology. Unfortunately my classroom does not have the resources available to promote learning through technology. I am asking for Amazon Fire tablets because they will be an excellent way to teach common core state standards in a fun and engaging way. We will implement tablets into small groups to provide students access with Front Row, ELA games, and social curriculum. Students will additionally be motivated to participate well throughout the day to earn time on a tablet at the end of the day. My classroom has one computer that we huddle around during storytime. Reading an online book is a favorited activity for all of my students and has created a love of reading. I can only imagine the possibilities that new technology will offer in my classroom.
