This request is for seating options to implement flexible seating in our classroom. My scholars need flexible seating options to help them feel comfortable while learning. Our Second Graders have a very high energy level and these seating options would allow them to move while still learning. I believe this will be a great way to engage scholars while also teaching them how to take control of their learning. Every day, they will have an opportunity to choose their seat for the day with the understanding this is to help them focus and learn while being comfortable. The yoga balls can be used by the scholars that have the highest energy and move while learning in a safe and controlled manner. The wobble chairs are good for scholars who like to tilt their chairs while listening or reading, this will provide movement while keeping the scholars safe. The cushions are a great seating option for the scholars who learn best in a more relaxed environment, with a low desk on the floor. At our school, we are learning about taking ownership of everything we do and this would be another great way to emphasize that. I am also very excited for them to have a choice in where they sit to work instead of traditional desks and chairs. Each child is unique and learns differently, these options would help us address the different learning styles in our classroom. We are looking forward to our new classroom seating choices!
